Medical researchers frequently face rejection by journal editors and peer-reviewers. They find it difficult to navigate the process of publication of medical manuscripts. There is a lack of knowledge about the journal assessment mechanisms, which makes it hard to get accepted, and wastes time in the rejection-resubmission cycle. The purpose of the book chapter below is to familiarize new authors with unwritten rules that will help in the publication of their manuscripts, giving writing tips to increase the probability of a manuscript being accepted on the first submission.
